Hafiz Ahmed Sabith
Hafiz Ahmed Sabith is an Indian long-distance cyclist known for his 2022–23 cycling expedition covering more than 15,000 km from Kerala, India, towards Mecca and Egypt to spread a message of peace and humanity.
Early life and education
Sabith was born around 2001 in Vittal, near Bantwal in Karnataka, India. His parents are Abdul Rehaman Musliyar and Awwa. He completed nearly 12 years of Islamic religious education, memorising the Qur’an at Manjeshwar Darul Quran Hifz College and later at Imam Shafi Islamic Academy, Kumble. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a diploma in psychology.
15,000 km Cycle Expedition (2022–2023)
On 20 October 2022, Sabith embarked on a long-distance cycling expedition from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He aimed to cycle more than 15,000 km across around 10–11 countries, eventually reaching Mecca and Medina for pilgrimage (Umrah/Hajj), and later Egypt's Al-Azhar University for higher studies.
According to media reports, he cycled between 70 and 100 km per day and carried essential gear including a tent, stove, repair tools, and safety equipment. The expedition was mostly self-funded, costing approximately ₹10 lakh.
