Alexander Beckett (diver)
Alexander Robert Beckett (28 February 1879 - 1949) was a prominent British diver during the early 20th-century.
Beckett was born in Bethnal Green in 1879. He was affiliated with the Neptune Club, a prominent diving organization based in London. He entered the 1908 Summer Olympics as one of the most improved divers in the United Kingdom. However, he couldn't live up to expectations. He competed in the , where he placed fifth.
Due to a limited number of formal diving competitions during that period, the majority of his diving experience came through exhibitions, performing plain, fancy, and acrobatic dives with the Neptune Divers in and around the London area. He died in Romford in 1949.
