Yarn and Glue

Yarn and Glue is the self-distributed second EP by American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joanna Newsom. It was released on CD-R format in 2003.
The EP was produced by Joanna Newsom and Noah Georgeson, both ex-members of the defunct rock band The Pleased, who were in the band and in a relationship at the time of the EP's production. The EP was recorded around the same time that Newsom's debut EP, Walnut Whales (2002), also produced by Newsom and Georgeson, was recorded and released.
All tracks on the EP, other than "Yarn and Glue", were later re-recorded. The re-recorded version of "What We Have Known" was included as a B-side track on physical copies of "Sprout and the Bean", the lead single from Newsom's debut studio album, The Milk-Eyed Mender (2004). "What We Have Known" would later be re-released by independent record label Drag City as its own twelve-inch single on July 19, 2011. The re-recorded versions of all other tracks were included as tracks on The Milk-Eyed Mender (2004).
