Venktesh Shukla
Venktesh Shukla was a president of TiE Silicon Valley and Chairman of TiE Global. Currently, founder and General Partner of an early stage venture fund called Monta Vista Capital.
Individuals such as CEOs of Microsoft, Adobe, Sandisk, Qualcomm, LinkedIn and billionaires such as Jack Welch, Vinod Khosla, Ram Shriram, Romesh Wadhwani, Manoj Bhargava, John Kapoor, Bharat Desai, and celebrities such as Kailash Satyarthi, Mohammad Yunus, Preet Bharara, Ronnie Screwvala, and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, have spoken at conferences organized by Shukla.
Shukla hosted Prime Minister Modi during his visit to Silicon Valley that included Digital India Dinner as well as a showcase for Indian and US start ups called Indo US Start Up Konnect. He also worked with Mr Amitabh Kant, then Secretary, DIPP to provide critical inputs for Prime Minister’s Start Up India initiative. He has also worked with state governments in India to help craft their policies on start ups as well as to host them during their visits to Silicon Valley.
Shukla has worked in large technology companies such as Magma Design (now part of Synopsys), Cadence Design and Teradyne, Inc. He has also worked in start ups such as Nusym Technology, Everypath and Ambit Design Systems.
Shukla is currently trustee of Foundation for Excellence India Trust (FFE) and member of the board of FFE USA. Foundation for Excellence gives scholarships to talented but needy students in India who manage to gain admission to good engineering or medical colleges in India but are unable to pay for it. He was its founding President for the first 18 years of this organization.
Shukla has been invited to speak at Wharton, Kellogg, MIT, UC Berkeley, Stanford and at conferences organized by the Economist, Red Herring, American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), Churchill Club and other prestigious organizations. He was also the keynote speaker at the joint IIM / IIT i5 Summit in Indore in 2017 and at 2018 E Summit hosted by IIT Bombay.<ref name=":1" />
He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a B.E in Electronics Engineering from NIT Bhopal. Before moving to USA, Shukla was in the Indian Revenue Service for a brief while.<ref name=":0" />
