Vann Chow
Vann Chow is a Chinese-American author whose novels generally focus on East Asian culture and protagonists of Asiatic origin.
Career
Born in Hong Kong, China, Vann Chow began writing novels upon moving to the United States, where she felt disillusioned about the lack of strong Asian protagonists in the American literature which was available to her at the time. Her novels, which Vann says were to "share the amazing, multi-faceted Asian history and culture with the wider world", were originally intended for an Asian American audience but are now targeted to "everyone who is interested in the Asian way of life".
In 2015, Shanghai Nobody was awarded Top 20 General Fiction of the year,
