Biography
Union Cane was born and raised in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, US. He began a career as a professional boxer, and began rising up the ranks to become the number one contender while Rocky Balboa was the heavyweight champion. His career lasted from 1984 to 1995, and he was the world heavyweight champion from 1986 to 1990, then 1992 to 1995.
Rocky V
After victory against Ivan Drago in Moscow, Russia; Cane stepped up with his promoter George Washington Duke, and challenged him to a world title shot in Tokyo, Japan, only to find that Balboa had retired and vacated his world title. Cane later went on to win the world heavyweight title in a tournament from Mac Lee Green. Unfortunately for Cane, he was considered to be a Paper Champion. Another boxer named Tommy Gunn (that was trained by Rocky Balboa himself) wanted to have a shot at the title. George Washington Duke saw Tommy's talent, and decided to take him under his wing and set up a fight.
On the day of the fight, Cane had the upper hand at the beginning of the first round, but Gunn made a sudden comeback and knocked him out, winning the world title.
After Rocky V
According to Rocky Wiki, Union Cane regained the world heavyweight title, and retained it until his retirement in 1995. He was proceeded by Billy Snow. Rocky Wiki also says that In 1995, Tommy Gunn returned and fought Union Cane, but this time, Cane was victorious.
