Trent Meacham
Trent Meacham (born September 26, 1985 in Champaign, Illinois) is an American college basketball player for the Illinois Fighting Illini. He is currently the starting 2 guard and back up point guard for the Illini, and is enjoying his best season as a redshirt senior.
College career
Never highly recruited in Champaign, Meacham had always dreamed of playing for the University of Illinois, but was never scouted by them. After a freshman season at Dayton University where he averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 assists per game while appearing in 29 games, Meacham transferred to Illinois. After sitting out the 2005-06 season, he entered 2006-07 as a sophomore for the Fighting Illini. Since then he has established himself as one of the better and more durable guards in the Big Ten conference. In 2007-08, as a junior, Meacham had his best year, averaging 10.2 points and 3.2 assists per game.
