Tokyo Monster Control
Tokyo Monster Control is a Miami-based Punk/Power Metal band comprising former members of the bands Coffin Caddies and Twice the Sun. The current line up consists of Rei Horror on vocals, Jsin Awesomo on Lead Guitars, Danny Silence on Bass and Zeus on Drums.
Biography
The band was formed in the summer of 2008 while recording with Producer Paul Trust at Bieler Bros Studio's in Pompano, Florida. Originally the songs were to be a new Coffin Caddies E.P., however, due to the band's evolving, more commercial sound, it was decided to re-name the band "Tokyo Monster Control". Unlike its predecessor, which was primarily a horror punk band that dealt with video-game and comic-book oriented themes, Tokyo Monster Control use a blend of punk and power metal styles, with the lyrics covering more "real life" subject matter. On October 31 2008, immediately after their final performance in their home town of Miami, Florida, The Coffin Caddies released a statement on their MySpace page, stating that they would be going on permanent hiatus, to focus on their new project.
On December 17 2008, after 6 months in the studio, the band completed recording and started playing local shows around the area. By the beginning of 2009 the band was getting local press and drawing large crowds at their home town shows. At the same time the band was performing free concerts all around Florida for Relay For Life, a national event that raises money for the American Cancer Society. By March 2009, the band had over 1,600,000 search requests on Google.com and was contacted by Hot Topic and asked to do a series of in-store signings and performances to promote their upcoming E.P "Addiction", which was released on May 23 2009. The band is scheduled to headline a major college campus tour in 2009 to promote their new album.
