Tim Hurrell

Timothy Hurrell (born 1 May 1953) is a British businessman from Yorkshire, and a former Chief Executive of the UK's Co-op food stores.
Early life
He was born in Kingston upon Hull. He has a younger brother.
From Durham University he gained a BSc in Chemistry and Geology.
Career
Asda
He worked for Asda from 1986 to 1997.
Co-op
He had worked for CWS from 1974 to 1979.
From 1997 to 2002 he was General Manager for food for the Yorkshire Co-operative.
He was the Chief Executive of the Co-op's food stores from 2007 to 2011. Two large Co-operative groups had officially merged on 29 July 2007. The Co-op had over 2,800 food stores with £8bn of turnover. He took trading profit from £139m in 2007 to £302m in 2010, during a difficult financial time for the UK. On 19 September 2011 it was announced that he would be leaving as Chief Executive at the end of December 2011. The commercial director for food, Sean Toal, became an acting Chief Executive.
Personal life
He lives in Cheshire.
