Thirdie.com
Thirdie.com is a social networking site created by the seventeen year old Peter J. Merrill on February 2nd, 2009. Merrill spent an estimated three-thousand hours promoting, designing, and brainstorming for the site.
The main goal of Thirdie is to give its users a free, friendly, spam free environment for which they can "Stay Social" as the site's catch phrase says. The site itself offers a large number of ways for its members to keep in touch. Some of the normal activities that go on inside the pages include (but are not limited to), games, watching/posting videos, posting blogs, commenting on profile, using message boards, and making new friends.
Thirdie currently has over 2,500 accounts registered and is growing at a rate of 40% a week. In just three months Thirdie has seen a growth rate of over 410%, making it one of the fastest growing new social networks. It was recently appraised with a total value of $35,000.
On average, most members, are located in the United States (48% of its users), with Europe being second (44%) of its users, and the other 8% is made up of members from every other continent.
Since its creation, Thirdie has been featured in a number of online sites along with having articles written in the Spooner Advocate, the Superior Telegram, and the Duluth News Tribune.
