The Paradox (American band)
The Paradox are an American rock band formed in 2024 by singer/guitarist Eric Dangerfield, guitarist Xelan, bassist Donald, and drummer PC3. The band garnered immediate success in the pop-punk scene, opening for Green Day during their 2024 Saviors Tour, and earning a spot at the 2024 When We Were Young Festival. In early 2025, their single "Do Me Like That" blew up on social media.
History
In August of 2023, Xelan responded to a Facebook ad Eric made about wanting to start a pop-punk band. The two met together at a New Found Glory concert the following week, afterwards spending a whole day at Eric's house watching pop-punk music videos and writing songs. By 2024, the two recruited Donald and PC3, and on July 1, the band would create their social media pages. Their first post went viral, and by the end of the month, the group had amassed over 100,000 followers. The group had released their first single "Kaitlyn" that same month. On July 30, Jack White's manager reached out to the band asking them to open for him in Nashville, Armstrong later requested the band open for Green Day at their Atlanta, Georgia show during the Saviors Tour, which would happen on August 28th. In October 2024, the band performed at the When We Were Young festival. They released their third single "Ms. Lauren" that same month.
In February 2025, the band were announced to be performing in Long Beach, California, during the 2025 Vans Warped Tour. On April 25, the band released their fourth single, "Do Me Like That", which blew up on both TikTok and Instagram. The band is set to open for Games We Play during their summer 2025 tour.<ref name="creativeloafing" />
