Strap trap
Straptrap is a sewing notion that is used to prevent bra straps slippng and showing. It was developed to replace the traditional ribbon and popper solution to securing bra straps in place.
The C shaped notion is sewn into the garment, usually at the shoulder.
It was designed and developed in the UK by Hilda Varley working with the University of East London Product Design Team.
Straptrap was shortlisted for the British Female Inventor of the Year Award in 2003 and the product was launched in the UK in 2004. In 2005 it was awarded a gold medal at The British Inventors Show.
Straptrap is wideley used in the UK bridal and couture markets and is also sold in the US. From 2009 it is also available in the UK company Whitecroft retail Essentials Haberdashery range.

In recent years a number of products have come onto the market to stop bras straps indicating a growing readinesss for women to discuss this world wide annoying problem, leading to the development of new products.The acronym VBS has come into use in recent years(Visble Bra Strap).
