Some television serials of the channel
Star Jalsha started its journey on September 8, 2008 and since then the channel has gifted to the Bengali audience a plethora of Bengali television shows, which cover almost every aspect of life of the modern and orthodox Bengalis of the contemporary times. Sometimes the channel has also organised reality shows and mythological television dramas and since 2008, it has been the highest TRP grosser in Bengal. Descriptions of some of the shows the channel had broadcast , is given below.
Charulata
;Plot
Charu is a modern day girl born and brought up in Kolkata. She definitely qualifies as supatri i.e. in the matrimonial columns of ABP she would receive many thousand replies. She's 23, MA in History from a prestigious college, belongs to a well established family, modern (meaning looks good in jeans and can speak fluent English) but conservative (meaning she has no ambition of a corporate career). In addition she can sing well. So when her parents suggested that she should meet Rudra, she was quite happy. Rudra is 27, handsome and successful. After economics and IIM he is a hot shot investment banker - flying high. There is an air of success and confidence around him. He knows that he is a supatro and will be a prized catch for parents with grown up daughters. Economics and IIM both are pretty dull as far as girl scene goes and anyway he was concentrating in giving himself a great career. He is slightly nervous about making a girl fall in love with him but he thinks his credentials will win her over. What more would a girl want? In Charu he saw a girl who would make a great wife. His parents would proudly present her to the family as the daughter in law and he can proudly present her to his world as his wife. Charu is just perfect. He decided that he will be a very progressive loving husband. In Rudra, Charu saw a handsome, confident young man who can give her a great married life. He is definitely more presentable than the husbands or fiancés or boyfriends of her other friends or cousins. Rudra talks well, in fact a bit too much, but he has a great life ahead. Rudra suggested that after the marriage they should live separately. Charu loved the idea but was apprehensive that her in laws would not like the idea. Rudra said it's his problem to convince them. Rudra bought a nice apartment and said that both of them will become the co-owners. Charu was hesitant but Rudra said he will get the house and Charu will make it a home. Charu was quite floored by Rudra. She had no problem is accepting him as a husband. She surrendered to him even before the wedding. Life was a fairy tale for a year after then wedding. Too many new things in her life - new home, new identity, new routine, new clothes & jewelry, too many new people to meet and places to go. Then the emptiness took over. One day she realised that she has lost touch with all her friends and have not made any new friends. She realises that she has become completely dependant on Rudra - emotionally, financially, socially - and she was suddenly not sure if she likes it. A relationship between a husband and wife thrives on courtship - being actively engaged in each other - with marriage being just one of the milestones of life. The courtship must not stop with the marriage.

On his death bed, he leaves letters for each of his sons and daughters claiming that only if they come back with their family to NIMONTRAN and stay together for a year, can they inherit his wealth of 30 crores including the house. ;Plot
Taare Aami Chokhe Dekhini, this serial is all about an 18 year old girl, Turki lives in a village near Kolkata with her little brother, Tutu and an old grandmother. She is a teenager filled with dreams about her prince charming. Her best friend, Jaba shares these dreams with her. But she has to leave school and take up her family's responsibilities. Her father's friend, Dhananjay and his wife, Meenu are their neighbors. They are very helpful and love Turki and Tutu as their own children. Dhananjay lets Turki run his flower shop to help her earn money for her family. Every morning, Turki collects flowers from Dhananjay and goes to the shop in her cycle to sell them. One day she meets with an accident with a car. The owner of the car, Emon is very generous and buys Turki a new cycle. He also comes to meet her the next day and takes her and Tutu around Kolkata in his car. Turki is attracted to Emon. Emon promises to meet her the next day. Emon is blind but Turki doesn't get to know. She waits for Emon the next day and is teased by her friends but Emon doesn't come. Turki meets Shekhar, Emon's driver one day and asks him about Emon. She gets to know Emon is unwell and wants to go to his home to meet him Shekhar warns her but she persists and gets Emon's address. Turki leaves for Kolkata. She manages to find Emon's house and is surprised to know he is very rich and owns a huge mansion in Kolkata. She tries to enter the house but is stopped by the guard. She is depressed and returns to her village. She is advised by her friend to forget about Emon. After a few days Dhananjay offers her to work as maid in Prasad Bhawan, Kolkata. Turki is very pleased with the offer as it is Emon' house. Turki convinces her grandmother and leaves for Kolkata with Dhananjay. She is appointed at Prasad Bhawan by Chotomaa, the boss of the house. Would Turki find her love back? Will Chotomaa accept her as her daughter in law? Will Abhik accept her in the house?
