Rais Neza Boneza
Rais Neza Boneza (born 1979) is a Congolese writer. He is the author of fiction, poetry, articles, and academic materials. He is also an activist and peace practitioner.
For his contribution to peace and conflict transformation, Boneza received a doctorate Honoris causa from the Institute of Management Sciences (ISGM) and the Universite du CEPROMEC in Burundi in 2008. He holds a BA in Social Sciences and a Masters in Humanities from Derby University.
Boneza is a former coordinator of TRANSCEND Africa Network and is now co-convener of TRANSCEND Global Network, a Peace Development Environment Network. Besides his writings, he travels around the world lecturing and consulting for different and institutions.
Boneza is the author of Nomad, a Refugee Poet (2003), Black Emerald (2004), Peace through African’s Peaceful Means (2006), Peace by African’s Peaceful Means (2007), and Sounds of Exile (2011). His debut novel, White Eldorado, Black Fever (Eldorado Blanc, Fievre Noire) (2013), is his only work which has been translated from his native French. In Eldorado, Boneza writes of issues with minerals in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
