Peter Benjamin Welch
Peter Benjamin Welch (1987- ) is a theatre director, writer, and scholar currently researching at Arizona State University.

Early Life
Welch grew up in Redgranite, Wisconsin a small town in Waushara County, and is of Irish and Polish decent. His father, Robert, was a surveyor turned State Senator who represented Wisconsin's 14th Senate district for 20 years. His paternal grandfather William Welch II was a Christmas Tree Farmer and a veteran of the Korean War. His mother Jeanne Piechowski was a skilled baker and the daughter of prominent Wisconsin beekeeper, Henry Piechowski.
Welch received his Bachelor's degree in Theatre from Lawrence University. There he was involved with numerous student and university productions. Notably, he produced and directed "The Pillowman" using a variety of puppet styles from around the world. Welch also had the opportunity to direct the world premier of the French musical "When the War is Done" written by Marie-Celine Lachaud.
