Matthew K. McCauley

Matthew K. McCauley is an American businessman and was the CEO of the child clothing store Gymboree from 2006 to 2012.
Career
He received his B.A. in American Studies from Brigham Young University in 1997. McCauley joined Gymboree in July 2001 as Director of Allocation and was named Vice President of Planning and Allocation in 2003, Senior Vice President and General Manager in February 2005, and President in June 2005. He has served as CEO from 2006 until 2012 and as Chairman of the Board since July 2006.
On September 24, 2012, Matthew K. McCauley provided notice of his resignation from his position as Chief Executive Officer of The Gymboree Corporation effective September 25, 2012. McCauley continued to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of the Company.
McCauley has listed his father, mother, and Stuart Moldaw as his mentors in life and business. He said his hardest decision has been to close down Gymboree's Janeville division, which required substantial layoffs.<ref name="SFBJ"/>
