Joe Spisak
Joseph "Joe" Spisak (born March 30, 1992) is an American wrestler who attended Boiling Springs High School, and won a Pennsylvania State Wrestling Championship during his senior year. Spisak currently attends, and wrestled for, the University of Virginia.
Personal life
In addition to wrestling, Spisak was also a football player and started as a running back for his team, the Bubblers.
Spisak has three sisters, Anna, Mary Kate, and Emma. He enjoys playing video games and riding his motorcycle.
Wrestling career
High school career
Spisak is one of Boiling Springs High School's most prolific wrestler. Spisak qualified for the state tournament during each year of high school. In his sophomore year, he made it into the championship match, but lost. He made it back to the championship match in his senior year and won the state championship at 130 pounds, defeating Frank Martellotti of Shady Side Academy. Spisak was also a four-time District 3 champion, one of less than 15 in the history of the state. Spisak ended his career with Boiling Springs after the 2009-10 season, with a career record of 167-12.
College career
Spisak wrestled for the University of Virginia Cavaliers. He spent five years with the team, redshirting his sophomore year. Each of the four years he wrestled, Spisak qualified for the NCAA championship tournament. Spisak also consistently ranked within the top 20 ranked wrestlers of his weight class. Spisak ended his career with the Cavaliers after the 2014-15 season.
