InterContinental Dubai Marina

InterContinental Dubai Marina is a five star luxury hotel with 328 Hotel Rooms and Residence Suites in the midst of Dubai vibrant Marina.
History
InterContinental Hotel began on April 4, 1946, when the first hotel opened in Belém, Brazil, to accommodate Pan American World Airways crews and passengers in destinations where 5-star hotels were not yet present. The number of hotels grew with the development of the airline's routes, in South America and the Caribbean first, then reaching Europe, the Middle-East, and Asia. Following the strategy of its parent company, which development was predominantly based upon its international flights, InterContinental Hotels opened gradually outside of the US before entering the country as late as 1975 with the landmark InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel.
In 1981, holding company InterContinental Hotels Corporation was sold to UK-based company Grand Metropolitan. As GrandMet focused its core business, ICH was sold in 1988 to Japanese based Saison Group. In 1998, Bass Brewery acquired ICH.
Bass was itself split in two, its brewing assets being sold to Interbrew whilst the remaining part of the company became Six Continents PLC, focusing on hotel, restaurant and beverages business. When the company split itself in two, IHG was created in 2003 and today retains the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts brand as part of its portfolio, along with midscale Holiday Inn and upscale Crowne Plaza.
Interestingly, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts now operates a rather evenly located portfolio, with 37 properties in North America, compared to 31 in Europe, 29 in the Middle East, 19 in Latin America and 51 in Asia Pacific.
