Immediate Family Records
Immediate Family Records is an American vinyl label created by an musician and entrepreneur Christopher Pizzolo in 2020. The label has worked with artists such as The Bicycle Thief, Pedrito Martinez, Sizzy Rocket, and Thelonious Monster.
History
Chris Pizzolo is a small business owner in the music industry, he currently owns three businesses, Immediate Family Marketing where they provide digital marketing and social media promotion for artists, Immediate Family Records which is a small vinyl record label, and Fluid Magazine which is a new online magazine set to launch later this year. Pizzolo has always been fascinated by music and the music industry, he started playing shows as young as thirteen in spots like CBGB’s Kenny’s Castaway.He went to college for communications in Upstate New York at SUNY Plattsburgh, when he returned he got an internship at a booking agency called Moodswing 360, and was able to become a roadie and eventually tour manager.Pizzolo became a tour manager for blues artist named Popa Chubby,this is what laid out the foundation for his life ahead.
Early Career
The label was created unintentionally, but Pizzolo had an opportunity to release a record that he loved as a teenager by a band called The Bicycle Thief, so he jumped on it.As he started to promote it and talk about it, people really liked what he was doing so it created the opportunity for more projects.The record that was released was "You Come and Go like a Pop Song" released in 1999 and re-released with a different track listing in 2001, then released again in 2020 Pizzolo put the record out again for the 21st anniversary of the album’s original release. Songs on the album were predominantly written by frontman Bob Forrest, though Josh Klinghoffer played a major role, contributing drums, guitars, keyboards, and songwriting.
Career
After the release of the 21st anniversary of The Bicycle Thief "You Come and Go Like a Pop Song” , Immediate Family Records has found great success, and have worked with GRAMMY nominated and award winning artists and producers. A large reason for their success is based on the principle that Immediate Family was founded on, which is that artists should be working with a team that wants to win just as much as the artist does. Immediate Family Records provides a personal approach to the music business, which their clients seem to like, because the business they receive has been 100% word of mouth referrals.
