Hunting by scent

Animals which hunt by scent include:
*Humans, see , often with the aid of scent hounds
*Mosquitos, some of which appear to be particularly attracted to human odours
*Snakes including the Eastern diamondback rattlesnake and the Cape file snake
*Ocelots
*Sharks such as Winghead sharks and Dog sharks<ref name"Cell culture"/> Some sharks react to the time difference between an odour reaching each nostril, enabling them to estimate the direction of their prey. This may be a factor in the development of widely-space nostrils in hammerhead sharks.<ref name"Cell culture"/>
