HISTORY
<big> Hobbymasters, INC. is one of the largest and oldest international hobby stores in the US. Forbes Magazine included Hobbymasters, INC. in the Forbes Travel Guides 2009, "Top 10 Amazing Toy Stores America." Established in 1975 in Red Bank, New Jersey, by David Placer, the store expanded through several locations until settling in their current downtown Red Bank location in 1979. In 1988 the owners turned the second floor warehouse space into additional retail area and added an elevator. The signature two-story mural on the front of the building complete with lighted trains and cars was added to the store between 1996-1997. In 2009 Hobbymasters gained more notoriety when their television commercial went viral as one of the top 10 worst retail tv commercials and was aired on E TV's Web Soup and G4TV's Attack of the Show. </big>

TIMELINE
1975 - David Placer, local gas station owner, opened the first Hobbymasters location on 90 Monmouth St, which is currently a municipal building.
1976-1978 - Hobbymasters changed locations, expanding their store each time.
1979 - Hobbymasters moved to it's current location, 62 White St, Red Bank; across from the Rumson River
1979-1987 - The Second floor of Hobbymasters was rented to a Model RailRoad Club and various bands for studio space.
1988 - Due to popular demand, Hobbymasters increased it's merchandise and expanded it's current location to 2 stories
1988 - Installs elevator for second story of Hobbymasters
1996-1997 - Two Story Mural was painted by a local artist and muralist, who were fans of Hobbymasters.
Late 1990s - Hobbymasters expands to the internet and today shares their store with hobby enthusiasts around the world.
2008 - Forbes Travler ranked Hobbymasters, Inc. on their "TOP TEN AMAZING TOY STORES IN AMERICA" list.
2009 - Hobbymasters local TV commercial goes Viral, and was aired on E! Entertainment's, Talk Soup and G4TV's, Attack of the Show
2009 - Installation of Solar Panals, which at the time of installation was the largest Solar Array in Monmouth County.
2010-Present - Hobbymasters begins sponsoring regional RC race car drivers.
