Hip Pop
Hip Pop founded in 2011, is a German a cappella band from Bonn, consisting of eleven members who were between 15 and 25 years of age. In 2012 they won the coveted "New Cappella Award" from the The Contemporary A Cappella Society (CASA) in Los Angeles, in which they asserted themselves at over 1000 A capella bands. Currently, they are the independent label StarBoost Recordings from New York City under the contract. An album is in the pipeline.
For 2014, they were booked for the greatest a cappella festival in Europe "A cappella-Festival" in Germany.
They count as best young band in the a cappella genre worldwide.
The name, hip pop, emerged from the sub-genre hip-pop, and mostly because the band perform songs with hip-hop and pop influences.
In 2013 a CD with unofficial versions of a cappella songs from the movie Pitch Perfect is planned, which is intended as promotional material. The songs will also performs live.
In Germany, the band is almost unknown. In the United States is tied by the award winning known.
