Gregory Walters (footballer, born 1981)

Gregory Walters, (born November 19, 1981) is a former footballer who played for Aston Villa Football Club between 1997 and 2000 at youth team level. After a 2 year scholarship he failed to win a professional contract at the club. Walters did not breakthrough into the Aston Villa first team after a lack of opportunity at the club following long periods of injury. In July 2000, Walters played in a friendly match against Redditch United F.C. which marked the switching on of new flood lights at their home ground The Valley. The team that evening included the likes of Gareth Barry and Jlloyd Samuel.
Since then Walters has worked in financial services. 5 years after leaving Aston Villa, Walters started
Return on Capital Group a company that assists retail clients to invest in non standard investments primarily property based. In August 2017 London based NM Group acquired 100% share capital of Return on Capital Group.
In December 2018 Walters was named in a Guardian article written by sports journalists David Conn where Conn exposes allegations of a bullying toxic culture at Aston Villa where earlier that month under 23s coach Kevin MacDonald was suspended from his player facing duties pending an independent investigation to claims brought to attention by Conn and former Aston Villa player and Ireland international Gareth Farrelly.
Greg has played in non league football for Rushall Olympic and Bolehall Swifts winning The Walsall Senior Cup in 2002 at Bescot Stadium
Greg Walters in recent years has played football in charity raising football matches for Wolves All Stars made up primarily of former Wolverhampton Wanderers players and is managed by former Wolves player Mel Eves. Greg has also played for Lions and Legends a team made up of players whom have played for Aston Villa which is organised by 1982 European Cup Winner Ken MacNaught.
