Early life and family
Farooqui was born in Mumbai, India. He was educated at the St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Mumbai. For higher studies, he moved to the United States where he received his bachelor’s degree from the Binghamton University in Information Systems and Finance.
At the age of 24, he married a British woman of Indian origin, Aabeda, and both currently live in India. He is known for introducing web 2.0 in India.
He is also known for popularizing the concept of advertising on rickshaws for marketing purposes.
Recently, he became spokesperson for Indian actor, Dilip Kumar, because of their long-standing family relationship.
