DHL 757-200F Cargo Door Incident
On February 13, 2021 A DHL Boeing 757-200F made an emergency landing in Leipzig after its Cargo door opened in flight.

Incident
The Freighter took off at 4:53 Local Time and as the 757 Climbed through 5,300ft, the main cargo door opened and parts of the frame near the Schkopau coal power plant. This site can be found approximately 10 NM west from Leipzig Airport . The Aircraft stopped climbing at 5,300ft due to the cargo door opening. The Pilots alerted ATC and then the 757F flew away from the airport for 15 minutes, perhaps to dump fuel and made an emergency landing on Runway 08R.
After the Incident
The Aircraft was towed to a ramp 40 minutes after landing. No one was injured in the incident.
Investigation
The investigation is currently underway so there is no information given at this time. DHL did say "“We can confirm that an aircraft belonging to DHL UK Air experienced technical issues after departing Leipzig/Halle airport for Frankfurt/Main on Saturday 13th of February 2021. During the flight lightweight parts of an aircraft cargo door frame were torn off. No civilians were injured. The aircraft immediately returned to the airport and was able to land safely. The incident has been reported and is now being investigated by the aviation authorities.”<ref name=autogenerated1 />
