Collision Conference

Collision is a technology conference held annually since 2014. The conference is organised by Web Summit, which was founded by Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly and Daire Hickey. The topic of the conference is centered on internet technology and attendees range from Fortune 500 companies to smaller tech companies. This contains a mix of CEOs and founders of tech start ups together with a range of people from across the global technology industry, as well as related industries.
Collision is part of Web Summit's global portfolio of events including f.ounders, RISE in Hong Kong, SURGE in India, and MoneyConf in Dublin.
For the first two years the event was held in Las Vegas, Nevada. In June 2015, Paddy Cosgrave, Web Summit co-founder and CEO, announced that Collision would be held in New Orleans, Lousiana starting in 2016.
2017
The three-day event was held over 3 days from May 2 until May 4 in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. 19,732 people from 119 countries attended the conference as well as 605 startups.
Among the almost 300 speakers across the event were a number of the biggest names in tech, including Chris Sacca of Lowercase Capital, Reddit CEO Alexis Ohanian, WeWork's Miguel McKelvey and Kevin Lin of Twitch. Other notable speakers from non-tech areas included Wyclef Jean of the Fugees, actress and activist Sophia Bush, and digital entrepreneur Tyler Oakley.
2016
Held for the first time in New Orleans, Louisiana, in what was hailed "a major win for the city as it seeks to raise its profile as a tech hub", Collision gathered 11,382 attendees for the three day period from April 26 to April 28. Speakers included Chris Sacca of Lowercase Capital, Sam Altman of YCombinator, and Kathryn Petralia of Kabbage.
2015
The final iteration of Collision in Las Vegas, Nevada took place from May 5 to May 6. Speakers included Mark Suster, Tim Draper, Scott Cook of Intuit and Mitchell Baker of Mozilla.
2014
The inaugural session of Collision took place from May 13 to May 14 in The Western Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. 1,500 attendees from 33 countries were present at the conference in addition to 150 startups. Attendees heard from many speakers, including Sam Altman of YCombinator, Michael Dubin of Dollar Shave Club, Mark Suster and Mayor of Las Vegas Carolyn Goodman.
