Antwone Taulton

Antwone Lavon "Tony" Taulton (born April 13, 1987) is an American homeless advocate and politician, and is a candidate for the office of Mayor of Waco, Texas.
Early life and, Education
Born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Waco, Texas, Taulton graduated from the A.J. Moore Academy in 2004. Taulton attended the University of Central Oklahoma and the George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University.
Homeless Advocacy
In early 2011, Taulton spent several weeks living the homeless lifestyle in Downtown Oklahoma City in search of the root of the homeless epidemic and to film "A Day in Our Shoes". The "A Day in Our Shoes" documentary is an up-close and personal portrait of some of the people Taulton encountered on his journey. The film examines the inner workings of a community of homeless people who do not live in shelters or missions but rather make their homes on the streets.
The "A Day in our Shoes" project works with homeless alliances and organizations throughout the United States to empower the homeless to independence, and equal treatment.
2012 Mayoral Campaign
In January 2012, Taulton declared his intent to pursue the office of Mayor of Waco, Texas.. Taulton officially entered the Mayoral Race on February 27, 2012, and will face District 5 Councilman Malcolm Duncan Jr in the May 12th General Election.
Personal
Taulton has two daughters, Zaelyn and Aniyah.
