History
ActiveFence was founded in 2018 by Noam Schwartz, Alon Porat, Eyal Dykan and Iftach Orr. The idea for founding ActiveFence came to Schwartz when he uncovered a stockpile of pedophilic material in Dropbox.
Funding
In July 2021, following a Series B round, the company announced that it had received $100 million in funding. Investors in ActiveFence include CRV, Highland Europe, Grove Ventures and Norwest Venture Partners.
Awards and accolades
In 2022, ActiveFence received an AI Breakthrough Award as one of the best-in-category AI-based solutions. It was also recognized by business consulting firm Frost & Sullivan for excellence in best practices in the Trust & Safety sector.

ActiveFence provides artificial intelligence (AI)-backed malicious content detection services and software that targets hate speech, child sexual abuse materials, extremist networks, trending misinformation, and disinformation campaigns.
