2025 Apex municipal election

The 2025 Apex municipal election will be held on November 4, 2025 to elect three of the five Town Council Members. Incumbent Town Council Members Brett Gantt, Ed Gray, and Audra Killingsworth are eligible to seek re-election, but Gantt and Killingsworth have declined to do so.
Background
The Town of Apex, North Carolina holds a municipal election every two years. The Town Council consists of five members, elected at large, and a mayor. Each Council Member is elected to a four-year term, with elections staggered so that three of the six positions are up for election every two years.
In 2025, the terms of Town Council Members Brett Gantt, Ed Gray (who also serves as mayor pro-tempore), and Audra Killingsworth expire, and an election will be held in November to fill the succeeding terms. Killingsworth has served two terms since 2017, while Gantt and Gray have both served one term since 2021. All three incumbents are eligible to run for re-election, although Gantt and Killingsworth have indicated their intent not to do so.

The filing period for candidates runs between July 7th and July 18th of 2025. So far, three candidates have declared their intention to file.
