Reliant Astrodome
There were numerous concerts held at the Reliant Astrodome, mostly as part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo since the first concert in 1942 by Gene Autry at the original location at Sam Houston Coliseum, until it moved to the(then named) Astrodome in 1966 until ultimately moving to their current location. For the complete list, see the list of Previous performers at The Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo.
*The first home run in the Astrodome was hit by Mickey Mantle off of pitcher Turk Farrell on April 9, 1965 in an exhibition game between the Astros and the New York Yankees.
*The first major concert at the Astrodome was by Judy Garland on December 17, 1965, before a crowd of 10,000 (although the arena was entirely sold out), with The Supremes as her opening act.
*In 1968, the AFL Houston Oilers moved into the Dome.
*The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, the world's second largest rodeo event and one of the city's biggest annual events, was held at the Dome from 1966 until 2003.
*In 1968, No. 1 UCLA played No. 2 University of Houston before a crowd of 52,963 - which at the time was the largest attendance for a basketball game in the United States. Houston defeated UCLA 71-69 behind a 39 point scoring effort from Elvin Hayes. Houston's victory in this game ended UCLA's 47-game winning streak. As a result, this particular matchup was deemed by many as the "Game of the Century".
*A major annual national midget car racing event called the Astro Grand Prix was held inside the stadium starting in 1969.
*Elvis Presley performed what was viewed at the time as comeback shows on the afternoon and evening at the Houston Astrodome on February 27, 1970. Two more shows followed on the 28th, two more followed on March 1. A closing press conference and banquet follow, and Elvis is presented an armload of recent gold record awards. The six shows attract 207,494 people and set records. There is speculation among the press and the public that Elvis might tour in concert for the first time since the fifties.
*The 1971 NCAA men's basketball Final Four was held at the Astrodome.
*On September 20, 1973, the Astrodome played host to one of the most talked-about events in sports history: "The Battle of the Sexes" tennis match which pitted female star Billie Jean King against former men's Wimbledon champion Bobby Riggs. King defeated Riggs (who had taken on the role of a male chauvinist for the match) 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.
*Guru Maharaj Ji and the Divine Light Mission held a three-day festival in 1973 at the Astrodome on November 8-10, called "Millennium '73". Billed as the "most significant even in human history" it failed to attract the expected crowds and left the movement crippled with debt.
*Yes - December 2, 1974
*The 1968 and 1986 Major League Baseball All-Star Games were held here, as was the 1989 NBA All-Star Game.

Lakewood Church Central Campus
The Summit housed the Houston Comets, Houston Aeros, Houston Rockets and several arena football sports teams until they vacated the arena in favor of the new Toyota Center in downtown Houston. Additionally, the arena was a prime Houston venue for popular music concerts and special events such as the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
The Summit hosted the NBA Finals on four different occasions: 1981, 1986, 1994 and 1995. In 1994 and 1995, the then-Summit was the site of the deciding games in the championship series and of the ensuing celebrations. The Summit was also host to championship teams from 1997-2000 when the Houston Comets won the title for four consecutive years.
Prior to the construction of Toyota Center, Compaq Center was the principal Houston venue for large pop and rock music concerts. Paul McCartney played there on May 4, 1976 during the famous Wings Over America Tour. On October 31, 1976 Parliament-Funkadelic performed during their P-Funk Earth Tour. Their show was later released on DVD in 1998. Queen recorded and filmed a heavily bootlegged concert at this venue on December 11, 1977 on the group's News Of The World tour. The concert is considered one the bands greatest performances. Led Zeppelin performed an acclaimed and extensively bootlegged concert in The Summit on their record-setting 1977 U.S. Tour. In 1982, a multi-media show featuring the original Star Trek cast called The Ultimate Fantasy was held there; extremely high ticket prices (as much as $65) made the show a sparsely attended financial debacle for the promoters. Aerosmith also performed a heavily acclaimed and bootlegged concert there during their Permanent Vacation Tour in 1988. A 1981 performance from the rock band Journey was released as the CD and DVD package Live in Houston 1981: The Escape Tour in 2005. The video for Mötley Crüe's "Home Sweet Home" was also shot at The Summit. Other artists of note who have performed at The Summit include Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Electric Light Orchestra, Michael Jackson, Madonna, David Gilmour (on his 1984 About Face tour), and an infamous KISS concert in which Ace Frehley played a 14-minute guitar solo. In 1989, Stevie Nicks performed at The Summit as part of "The Other Side Of The Mirror" tour. The music video for "Whole Lotta Trouble" was filmed and the rest of the show was recorded for a radio broadcast. This show has become a popular bootleg amongst Nicks' fans.
The Summit also held the World Wrestling Federation's Royal Rumble on January 15, 1989. This was the first time the Royal Rumble was televised on Pay-per-view. The Rumble was won by Big John Studd. Iy was also the venue of WWF In Your House: No Way Out of Texas in 1998.
