IRestorer is a free backup and disk imaging program for Microsoft Windows XP.

Description
IRestorer creates an exact disk image of system into a file, including the operating system, installed programs, data and all security attributes, while Windows is running. In case a disaster occurs (a virus, trojan, worm, or hard disk crash), a complete restoration of system will be possible.

Features
* Simple interface
* On the fly actions
* Disaster recovery
* Virtual drive
* Image files compression
* Image files protection
* Image files splitting
* Image files verification

System recovery
The Windows system partition can't be restored whilst Windows is running. To overcome this issue the PC has to be started with another operating system using IRestorer Disk.

Virtual drive
The image files can be mounted as a virtual drive in Windows Explorer for file recovery using copy and paste.

Supported file systems
* FAT16
* FAT32
* NTFS
* EXT2/3/Reiser

System requirements
IRestorer runs under Windows XP only. Also you need administrative rights to install it.

I was told by the creator of 'drive snapshot' that irestorer is illegal pirate version of snapshot.

\"IRestorer runs under Windows XP only.\"

That is not true either, it\'s installer might be limited to XP only but if it is installed with XP compatibility mode in another OS it installs and works just fine.

Seems odd that IF it's a pirated version of Drive Snapshot, that the creator of IRestorer does actually say in description that it's based mostly on Drive Snapshot. Makes me doubt the "pirated" thing.
*I haven't used this yet, because I'm concerned about how to use it if I have a PC problem later. Can anyone who has actually USED this tell me how to make a BOOTABLE exe with this & if I can just simply & easily use the bootable exe to completely restore my PC? I just had to reformat, & I love Paragon System Backup that uses ISO images, but it failed on me, stopped half-way through the restore, so I'm pretty concerned now.
