The Caesars Cup is a poker tournament, inspired by golf's Ryder Cup, which pitches the greatest poker players from Europe and The Americas against each other in a series of heads-up and team-based poker matches across a single day. It is contested annually, with the venue alternating between venues in Europe and North America. The inaugural Caesars Cup will take place in London on September 25, 2009, as part of the Betfair sponsored World Series of Poker Europe. Format The Caesars Cup consists of a series of poker matches between individuals and pairs selected from two teams of eight. Tournament organisers have not yet announced the exact running schedule, but have confirmed that it will include heads-up action, team competitions and non-traditional components such as alternate betting. The whole event takes place over the course of one day.
